As the
percentage of locally owned, independent businesses
diminishes, the challenges facing every independent
business grow. National chains impact even businesses
that are not in direct competition with them. As independent
businesses command a smaller share of consumer dollars,
the outlook for the prosperity of every locally owned
business dwindles. In short, the independent business
community is interdependent - by creating alliances
we develop the resources that do not exist individually.
The Boulder Independent Business Alliance (BIBA) puts
into practice the idea that "the whole is greater
than the sum of it's parts."
Who is the Boulder Independent
Business Alliance?
BIBA consists of 140 locally
owned and independent businesses, all of whom care about
sustaining their community. BIBA works actively to ensure
the success of Boulder's diverse business environment.
Our objectives are created with the intent of maintaining
Boulder's unique spirit of entrepreneurialism.
What is
BIBA's Mission?
It is the mission of the Boulder Independent Business
Alliance to reverse the loss of community-based business
in Boulder County by raising consumer awareness of the
impact that point of purchase decision-making has on
community character. As a cooperative organization,
BIBA seeks to strengthen the ties between business owner's
and the community thereby enabling successful competition
and collaborative marketing.
Why should
your business support BIBA?
Joining BIBA gives you access
to valuable resources: energy and creativity of other
independents, group purchasing, referrals, and brand
recognition. BIBA members are known to consumers throughout
Boulder County as a valuable resource, thanks to BIBA's
emphasis on public awareness and community participation.
For over five years, BIBA has kept valued customers
as well as shared community assets and interdependent
values throughout the Boulder community.
What does the Boulder Independent Business
Alliance do for your business?
Each aspect of BIBA is designed
to effectively support our member businesses and develop
benefits to address the diversity of our membership
